The first two images are of an old postcard plugging The Holiday Inn (Pittsburgh North) of Harmarville, PA.From the cars and the building's design, I'd guess that this card is from the late 50s or early 60s.

The second two are of The Buccaneer Motel of Beaufort, SC.
From the car in the foreground, and the motel's design, this is probably from the same time period as the accompanying postcard.

Ah, the old days of highway travel....

Ha, ha...walksoftly...thanks for the love and for the comment! It's almost USA Thanksgiving, and your comment brings to mind the movie "Trains, Planes and Automobiles", which featured some unsavory lodgings, within the realm of the rigors of travel!!!

"Master of the house, keeper of the inn......"

Love old motel post cards. These would be after 1963 as they have Zip codes.
    6. Ted_Straub Ted_Straub, 11 years ago
Thank you, AzTom. The zip code reference does help to date these cards.

Your input and love of the cards are appreciated!!!!

That was a classic movie & with bad weather moving through the U S many people may be doing the same things trying to get to their destination.

Yes, Dave, I was thinking the same thing. It's been a family tradition of ours to watch "Trains, Planes, and Automobiles" on Thanksgiving! With this year's impending bad weather, it'll be even more timely!!!

Thank you, gc! I'm glad to be able to post such things, which bring enjoyment to viewers such as you! What good is it if we have things, but don't share them with others?

Take care, and have a fine day!
