Thank you Manikin for your comment. I talked to my step-dad today, I don't know how much longer we will have telephone conversations.
Awesome post and a credit to one of our great heroic patriots.

My step dad did a taped interview at VFW I have on CD a few years before he passed . He talks about what he saw and did during war . He worked close with General Patton who he described as not well liked and hard to work with. He was his secretary and traveled with him for awhile in Phillipines among other things . One day I got a call and he went in a instant . It is always hard no matter what age they are . He was all I had left as my parents had passed long before him. I was not real fond of him but he somehow kept me connected to my Mother after she passed .
If it is possible to love and hate an image at the same time this would qualify. Love what they did and hate what happened.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments and Love
Happiest of Holidays to you TT :^)
GOD bless him!!

Windwalker ,When the Pacific Fleet was stationed in San Pedro,CA my dad for extra income was a bouncer at some of the most notorious bars in San Pedro. At one of the bars he had a knife pulled on him, he took the knife away and threw the guy into the street. In April of 1940 the fleet was moved to Pearl Harbor, TH.
