I will do some more research later but if I recall correctly it is a model made in the 1910s but is more likely made in the 20s. It works but not all that well. Probably just needs some cleaning and lubrication. At $50 I think it was a good buy at that was at a local antique store so $4.00 tax is better than another $5o for shipping.
The Model 5 was made from 1901 - 1932.

I didn't realize this was actually posted 5 years ago but thought I'd comment on it anyway, especially since I see you commented again a few hours ago. This is totally worth cleaning up. It's a big job, but you can do it. I usually use the old lubricants in the can when jobs like this come along. But when you are done you will be so happy when you look at it and what it took to complete it. It was a steal at 50.00 no doubt!
OTOH shareurpassion, it *also* has a certain undeniable charm about it just as it is...a bit rusty and creaky around the edges but otherwise still a perfectly beautiful "mechanical marvel" of a hundred-yr-old machine...?? ;-) ;-) ;-)
Thank you very much shareurpassion. My current project to tidy up the house a bit Then I can work on some of these other projects.
Thank you very much AnythingObscure. It sure has a lot of interesting insides.

I think you're trying to make room to set up more forts and trains to enjoy!!! LOL! Just kidding, but not really ;) xoxo
I could always use more room for forts and trains.
Thank you hunterqlee.
