    Nothing sucks like an Electrolux was their slogan. This one is post WWII model which were made from 1945-1953. This one works and I use it at least once a week. Don't know how many made today will still be working 60 years from now (I am thinking not many). My quandary on this is a category for posting.

      My grandmother had one of these. I have the upright version. I bought it about 23-24 years ago and it still runs great. I also bought their shampoo machine, best I've ever used/owned. Works fantastic.

      My grandparents had one too now so do I. Thanks for the love Aimathena.

      My first job in sales was with Electrolux. I knocked on doors for them for about a year and a half. I really enjoyed it. they make a great product... Or at least they did. I can't speak for the newer plastic jobs that they sell at Sears and Walmart. We still use our 1981 model "Olympia."

      Sweet. You're most welcome fortapache.
      Mine is plastic Toolate. I bought it from a door to door salesman in 91-92... somewhere near that time frame. X bf even used it on construction jobs o.O and it still runs like the day I bought it.

      I've been lucky enough to get a number of different models from the '56-'57 models to the '86 models. So far, all of them have worked wonderfully. Most of them work better than the "New and Improved" vacuum I use for myself, haha.

      Very interesting toolate2. Thanks for your comment and interest.

      That's a BEAUTIFUL Suck-o-Lux, fort ['Who Framed Roger Rabbit' reference] especially with its 'onboard tool set'?!! :-) Those were indeed sorta indestructible machines, as long as you kept to using them to clean up *dry* dirt. (if not, bad things happen...) I have one or three (+ a boxful of parts/attachments) laying around here someplace too, but none of mine look as shiny clean as yours...?
      <lol>

      Thank you very much AnythingObscure. Looks like I am a bit behind in comments. I am still using this one on a regular basis.

      I had one like that! Used in in the barn til one winter mice went up the hose and built a nest in the cloth bag!!!! Ate it up!!! My wife used to love the ones made in the seventies and eighties!!! Every time she went to the Electrolux store to get bags!!! They would try to sell her another one!!! WE had 3!!!! I used to tell her it was like dragging around a DEAD PIG!!! That was the family joke! Get the dead pig and clean up that mess!!

      Stuff

      Thank you very much stuff. I have another circa 1960 but it has a leaky hose. Yes it is not the lightest vacuum ever made.
