Ausführung 165 pieces are described as “opal glass ground in various colors; lower half black” by the new (highly recommended) Loetz.com website. Although the bottoms look black, the “black” on these two examples (and all others I have seen) are actually deep purple/amethyst.

The flared lavender bowl (Ausführung 218) is 5 inches tall by 8 inches in diameter. The green covered jar is 8 inches tall and the yellow/orange “egg cup” is 5 inches tall (both these Ausführung 165).

I got the green covered jar in a very high-end antique shop, for a very low price. It was described "oh, that's cheap Czech".

Great stuff .. thank heavens for cheap Czech!! glass ... I'd be going back there regularly buying all that Czech...
I had an old wares store ( I refrained from calling it antiques) and use to source a lot from antiques stores who thought the knew all but looked down on anything from 1890's onward.

Love them! Just imagine the effort taken to decorate them! Were these done by Franz Wilms (and/or his son Otto) too?

      vetraio50,

I used the term "Dagobert Peche style" because I am not knowledgeable enough to know who is most likely responsible for the actual enameling or enameling style, e.g. Franz or Otto Wilms, Dagobert Peche or Michael Powolny. It would be interesting if someone who sees this could discuss in more detail?

      ozmarty,

I guess the lesson here is "leave no stone unturned" or "make no assumptions as to what you might find, where. Thrift stores may not always produce the best value examples."

too true . even now when most of my searching is on the net.

      Ozmarty,
      Here is an eBay example:

      http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fine-Czech-Orange-Yellow-Black-Iridized-Spatter-Art-Glass-Vase-Black-Threads-11-/221321844148?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3387cf55b4&nma=true&si=ZGxgx3wlgs7tz5uNpdLVu08q%252FG0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I wish I had seen this soon enough. It is an early (1920's) Fenton Art Glass example (Fenton Mosaic) worth $1500 - $2000. Even the latter reproductions by Fention are worth minimally double the $150

THIS is the same piece, immediately resold:
