Here are two Czech vases that I really enjoy. In my experience at least, the decorations are uncommon. Both vases have a very thin colored layer covered with a clear layer. Both have cut tops and similar "neck" decoration - wide stripe, thin stripe.
1. Nude female in a fishnet apron and high heels - fishing. Very clever. Almost circular (slightly flattened) "Made in Czechoslovakia" etched mark.
8.5 inches tall.
2. Thickly enameled "landscape" depicting a hut, hills/wave, palm tree and plants. The scene is repeated three times around the vase. Straight line "Czechoslovakia" mark in ink I think. 5 inches tall by 6 inch diameter at the bottom.
Thanks czechman, I usually don't buy such simple or "unambitiously" made Czech pieces - but the subject matter/decoration made them irresistible.
yellow vase - probably painted by Dagobert Peche
I love how the orange one draws you in...beautiful.
The orange one is beautiful , I love them both :-))
First vase looks like she is line crabbing not fishing.
One of my favorite things to do in the summer.....we have great Blue Crabs on the Outer Banks.
Thanks melaniej
Enjoy is the key word and I thoroughly enjoy these vases, quite amazing !~
