Picked up this little 10" bud vase at our local GW today. It's been sitting on their front counter for a few days. I'd pick it up and look at it and put it down again. So I finally decided to buy it. It definitely looks hand made. The body color has shades of red and orange but the base is clear. The bottom is rough and has been slightly polished around the edges so it sits straight. The glass finish is somewhat irregular with a few air bubbles. Seems old to me and there are no marks or numbers on the bottom. It looks a bit like a Scandinavian art glass called "Riihimaen Lasi Oy" or "Riihimaki" for short. I found something similar here at 20th Century Glass .com http://www.20thcenturyglass.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3313 Mine is not quite as finished but the shape and color are close. Glass collectors what do you think ?

HeyMike, wish I knew. I always hover over these kind of treasures as well.
I think you might be right Jay. Although the shape and color are similar it's a little too "chunky" to be the Scandinavian glass. Those pieces look thinner and lighter than this one. The tops are also polished flat and not so thick. Happy Holidays to you and your's as well ! -Mike-
Thank you petey :)....Merry Christmas to you as well and a Happy New Year !
