    (9 items)

    Small Nude crystal sculpture.

    3 3/8 inches long X 1 3/4 inches wide
X 1 inch top of tray
(To the top of the sculpture head is 1 3/8 inch)

Belonged to my Grandpa + I am 61 yrs old , wondering its purpose if other than art -too small to be a candy dish HA. I'm guessing it's crystal since I don't see mold marks? Mainly trying to determine origin + artist + age.
All photo's taken by me. Can probably get a better shot of the makers mark if it would be of help.
Here is a link to the original catalog page:

Damn you all now I'm hooked + will be on the lookout for more !

Oh and another question comes to mind. The mint mark in the last picture (if that's what it is I'm guessing) looks a though it was pressed in the bottom.
Not being familiar , wouldn't work on molten glass ,can you get that result with crystal ,doesn't that start with molten material?
Or would it have to be carved out ,then polished? Thank you for your consideration.

Thanks icollectglass just noticed the reply. Very similar piece but my mint mark seems more like a Crown to me. I will have to figure a way to get a legible image of it.

      JCMBQ,

Your mark is the Hoffman butterfly, and that is great! I would call this a pin dish; I have it in amber and clear, and just found one in the original box; I will post a pic! I love these pieces!

These dishes are often called salts. I was told by a great aunt who was there in the 20's that the original use was as cocktail ashtrays, every guest had one.
      regards
