If this helmet could only talk. This is a late war Imperial Japanese Marine helmet brought back from Okinawa by a veteran of the U.S. Marines 2nd Division. The helmet has the original net with jungle foliage still attached. This is in the exact condition as it was when it was picked up from the battlefield, except that the vet took the liner and cloth chinstrap out. The helmet was shipped to Chicago in a Japanese ammo crate, and the crate has a board nailed to it with the person's address as well as U.S. postal stamps.
That is a very cool helmet.
