    Hi,

I just bought this unusual pair of lamps at an estate in Philadelphia.
Looks like they're Gesso over wooden frame, with stained glass inserts in the lantern style tops.
The pull chain mimics the shape of the tripod feet!
    They've been electrified (need rewiring).

I wonder if they were originally funeral parlor lamps?
Would they've always been electrified, or oil?
Have a French look to them, any idea how old they are and where they might be from?

    Thanks for looking,

    Nessa

I'm hoping someone can tell me more about them too.
My husband doesn't love them as much as I do though, so I might have to look into getting them a new home soon..................

They certainly were not Oil/Kerosene Lamps and your assessment at being Funeral Home Electric lamps is a possibility. The color of the glass inserts give me a post 1920's date...IMHO, BOB
