Drop-shaped decanter, named 'Rolf', made at Holmegaard Glassworks (Denmark), 1920-1930. Height 27.4 cm, including the stopper. The decanter was meant for liqueur and was made in various colors such as chartreuse, amber, olive, and purple. There are also glasses belonging to this series - I have two as seen in pic 2! The pewter decoration was added later by a local silversmith, so that's why you see quite a variation, although it is always made in the same style with leaves, grapes etc. I come across these decanters relatively often - just today I saw one in my of my favorite 'old stuff' stores; reddish purple and no pewter. I didn't buy it, though (but I was tempted)!
very beautiful!!
