Found this chained to a tree a while back, and thought I would share it. The flywheels are about four feet tall, this must have been a very large engine. Again, what great yard art.......

You do manage to actually find stuff other than at an antique mall. I just find rocks and pine cones.
Thank you very much gargoylecollector, aghcollect, kerry10456, Manikin, nutsabotas6, valentino97, walksoftly, vanskyock24, pops52, EJW-54, DrFluffy , SEAN68, & fortapache. Thank you very much for the kind words SEAN68. I do not go to Antique Malls. I would rather drive the back roads, scrounging through old sheds, clearing brush away, etc. I always carry binoculars with me, you would be amazed what is hiding out there. However, I have to be very careful, we have some very nasty little guys hiding around here, Brown Recluse spiders, Black Widow spiders, scorpions, rattlesnakes & red hornets, which have a serious attitude problem. I have been scorpion stung on quite a few occasions. Obviously it is not fatal, however, I can think of better ways to spend a day. I always carry Benadryl.
Thank you very much Budek, JayHow, Trey, geo26e, RonM, pw-collector & kingshawn.....
Thank you very much tom61375 ...
Thank you very much petey...
This seems to be a steam engin dates from the end and beginning of the 19th century. We have similar here in Quebec, Canada on an old quarry. These steam engines were use to actionate the arms that lifted heavy rocks. Here they were made in germany.Known at that time for their advanced engineering in the domain of vapors and steam.
Love those wheels...:-)
