Arlene bailey was no stranger to the stresses involved with casting her wax models. However, it was Jonathan who performed most of this casting process, with a little help from the children when it was safe to do so. Franz and his siblings had witnessed this process many times.
The first photo depicts the gloves Jonathan would use to hold the flask and transport the heated mold.
The second, third, and fourth photo depicts one set of Jonathan's metal flasks with rubber bases. These flasks were used to hold the cement material and the wax model which finally is turned into a gold model.
The owner is not sure if all of these items are original due to the danger involved in this process. Some of the flasks "appear older" but that may be due to that flasks frequency of use. This set of flasks no longer participated in the process of “birthing” jewelry after Jonathan’s death.
