I was stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany when Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) started. When they decided to start dropping HDRs, that operation was accomplished from Ramstein. Those of us that loaded these were all volunteers. We'd open the boxes and dump that into huge, palletized boxes that were then loaded onto the airplanes and flown to Afghanistan where they were airdropped. We were all allowed to keep a package when we volunteered. I never planned on opening it, and I didn't. However, much to my dismay, I came home from work one day and saw the package was opened. My wife wanted to know what was inside of it. GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!
