Anglo American Wall Clock

Hi All! This particular clock is referred to as an Anglo-American clock. I am going to defer to R.O. (Bob) Schmitt's description of this clock since he auctioned this identical model in 2004 and because I'm just doggone tired from jury duty... "C.1880, Anglo-American, 8-day time and strike wall clock; English made case of mahogany, oak and pine with nice applied embossed wood. Condition: very good overall, the movement was made by New Haven. Pendulum and hands are original. Height 43 inches". To add to his description: I crafted a rather crude pendulum rod (metal rod that the pendulum attaches to), the original painted dial was restored by Martha Smallwood at The Dial House; there should be a brass bezel in the round portion of the door over the dial, but I've been too lazy to locate one; I replaced the original torn fabric behind the decorative fretwork with a pale beige gold herringbone; the two original upper finials (left and right) were missing and were replaced with old vintage oak finials; it appears someone "smoothed" out the horizontal lower edge bottom of the case maybe due to a bump or very slight loss of wood. The American New Haven movement strikes the hours on a cast iron 'bell' . Does not strike on the 1/2 hour. Overall, the case is in really good condition. There is also an orig. label on the back of the case.
