Moonstonel…

Val97 and I saw this at The Long Beach Antiques show and was not sure about it. This was very pretty and the seller said it was rare. I asked if it were Murano and he said it was a better maker. Help? Curious.
I say Murano and the auctioneer is just wanted to pump up the price. Check out the below link. Mighty close, but then this person could be wrong on their description, but I did find a few more that were in the family.

Murano is an island in the city of Venice, it is a designation of a place not a maker. It would be wrong to say that something is better than Murano glass because it is the top place in the world of glass production, it is at least as good as any other place and there are many who would say there are no equal.
It looks like made in zanfirico technique, I have seen these attributed to french glassmakers too. finer threads are better, look at some Venini fazzoletto vases to see how that should be done. http://www.treadwaygallery.com/ONLINECATALOGS/March2004/modWEB/0828.jpg
