Ceramic bud vase by Clement Massier (circa 1900) with interesting contrasting/dual glossy and matte glaze effects and rare beetle motif. The vase has a base matte iridescent glaze topped by a glossy iridescent glaze that was applied in such a way as to appear to drip from the top. Beetles are present around the matte portion of the vase and systemically spaced around the glossy top. Marked, "M.C.M., Golfe-Juan, A.M." on the bottom. Dimensions: 5.75"(H) x 2.75"(W).

Hi, ks85. There are two books I would highly recommend. One is entitled, "Clement Massier: Master of Iridescence" and the other is "Les Massier: Cote Cour, Cote Jardin." Both can be found on Amazon and from time to time on eBay.
Wow! Sucha lovely one! And what about that iridiscent base? :)
