Decor designed by Hannes Echinger , 1924
Acid etched logo STEIGERWALD STW REGENHUTTE on the inside of the foot. Enameled in black on the reverse, Weihnachten 1924 (Christmas 1924) Numbered in black on the base - 66. Height is about 6 inches. Footed beaker of colorless glass , consisting of two fused bell-shaped hollow bodies. Entire surface is stained yellow. Medallion with Mary and child motif, surrounding decor of twigs and stars, all painted in black enamel .
Christmas cups like these were made in 1924 and 1925, with the appropriate year and each with a different motif from the Regenhütte designs by Hannes Echinger (a student of Bruno Mauder), produced in limited edition. The shape design probably comes from Mauder himself. The number produced of each edition is unknown, but was at least 300 pieces. This glass was the 66th in the edition of 1924. There is an identical mug as this one in the Passau Glass Museum, numbered 192, and also one from 1925 (see PMC V.61)
There is also a similar mug in the Münchener Stadtmuseum.*

Immaculate item!
Sigh!
Congratulations Warren!
This is just AMAZING!
I love the way it mixes Christmas and Avant-garde decoration (but of course, we're talking about the 20s!)
