A few years back while shallow water metal detecting at an old lake beach I found a Mickey Mouse bangle. It's 1 3/4" inches across, small enough for a child to wear. I'm not sure about the metal composition, though it appears to be brass. Initially I attempted to gather details about the bangle at various collector's forums, but I was not able to find anything similar to it, other than that the bangle appears to be from the 1930s. I like the bangle, so I have held on to it. I'm hoping someone here is able to provide details as to approximate age and metallic composition. Hopefully the attached photos will be of some help. Thanks for any information offered!

most of these I've seen, were silver and from the 30's, but the oxidation on this doesn't "feel" right looking at photos. A year or so ago, there was another posted on this forum, but broken and was asking how to repair.
I'll research past posting and leave link to earlier posting.
Love the bangle and welcome to the CW forum

Thank you Kerry! The bangle on that other post is a very nice one. It is different in design from the one I have however. I do collect silver coins and other silver items, most of which I have found while metal detecting. The bangle I found isn't silver though. The oxidation does suggest that the bangle had been in the water for decades. There are no markings on the inside of the bangle, at least none that I can make out.

Thanks for the reply and for the information!

Does the yellow coloring under the plating seem to be solid material or first layer of plating process? The later model "Theme" park ones would be a "base" metal with brass then chrome plating, circa mid 1950's-60's

Oops, should have added ,if the bangle is brass, and not layer of plating, it would suggest earlier piece, 30's-40's

The yellowish coloring is solid. There is no flaking anywhere which could clue in on remaining plating, as has been the case with many silver plated rings I have found over the years, where flaking exposed the base metal. I'll have to look at the types of Mickey Mouse designs/drawings from the 1950's-60's, something I hadn't considered. Thanks! :)
