E. & H.T. Anthony was one of the earliest American manufacturers of cameras and photographic supplies and coveted by collectors. The Champion series of tailboard cameras were manufactured from 1887 to 1906 and offered in formats from 4x5 to 8x10 inches. Construction was varnished mahogany bodies attached to cherry bases.
This is a stereo version of the classic 5 x 8 inch field model with a pair of nearly pristine nickel plated EA landscape lenses. These earlier lenses had push-in style washers used for apertures.
Most of the stereoviews you see posted on CW were made by cameras similar to this.
