Not long ago I was sharing the pictures and info about Alfredo Häberli's JIM desktray. I am now sharing the last of Häberli designs I've added to my collection.
This is the ROSA SIMPLE bowl which he designed for the Italian design company Driade in 1997 alongside with the JIM desktray and the VIS À VIS and MORE OR LESS ashtrays.
This bowl is in fact a double bowl, or a vase-bowl... as it's got a small cilindrical one within the first wide bowl, so it allows for a variety of simultaneous uses.
In any case, it is also very beaitful in itself!
Its stunning!!!! Love this!!!
Hey babes, I was just talking about your love of design on the post I just put up! It's like we are on the same page.
Amber, so great you were thinking of me when i was sharing this!!! :)
This one was not cheap. I have to admit it, but it was an only chance of getting this bowl so far I had only seen in catalogue pictures!
Thank Amber, Sean and DrFluffy for loving it!!!
Love the retro orange!!
Thanks bobogal, agh and vet for your loves!
The orange isn't very bright, but it's a beautiful shade of it
@Jay, it's melamine, a kind of hard plastic (at the begining it was sold as the unbreakable plastic, which is totally false , they do break :) ). The special thing about it is that the walls are pretty thick to be made of melamine (at least 5mm thick)
My believe is that there's some kind of computer process (3D design) involved in this. I love the make the two shapes intersect with each other and it reminds me of the time i studied technical drawing at college.
Thanks Jay, mikel and racer for loving it!!!
I think the most famous American comany working with this material was MELMAC. I think it's more 60s than 80s ;)
Don't worry Jay, probably my bad Englsih lead me to confussion ;)
I think we must be more or less the same age...
In that case I'm "much older"... will be 46 next May :)
