    I found this little blue bowl that I wonder if it might be a dessert dish or fruit bowl.

    Looks like it came from a mold because of the number and the design on the bottom of the bowl.

    I don't know anything else about it and was hoping for some help with learning more about what it is.

      does look like fired on paint color; searches show yellow, orange, pink, aqua, etc. colors. They're likely fairly recent.

      Looks like the number on the bottom possibly relates to the color of the bowl. I found a set of 8 different colors and another listing noting the different numbers. Several listings called them cottage cheese bowls; leading me to believe the were sold containing cottage cheese. This type of marketing was very popular in the 50s and 60s, and probably since then as well to some extent. Here is a listing of 8:
