This is the second shooting trophy which belonged to John Sutcliffe, my husband's grandfather.
He received this trophy for 2nd place in the Revolver competition with the SMP, Shanghai Municipal Police.
This is a beautifully made silver cup, with detailed pictures of Chinese life linked by beautifully wrought foliage. I assume this was Chinese made when looking at the hallmark, but admit to knowing zero about silver.
Originally this cup was mounted on a plinth which is long gone.
Oh wow! The trophy is beautiful, just like everything made back then.
Yes so much time and skill spent!
stunning Karen!!! Love!!!!
Thanks aghcollect and Sean. I'm sure it would look better if polished but my lazy excuse is to accept patina!
LOL!! its okay Karen!!
Love patina.
But silver does need maintenance.
Got a silver cloth?
Godards have a good one.
Just a light wipe over.
No nasty grinding powders.
