I spotted this fella amongst a ton of cool stuff on some pictures of an estate sale. Austro had just posted his gorgeous collection and I thought I knew what it was...pant pant pant...
I emailed Austro, who rocks (!), he thought it was what we thought it was.
Unfortunately I have a job and am not always at leisure to go where I want when I want...(which stinks)
Plus it was over an hour away.
Oh, add really crappy weather...just to make traffic fabulous.

Long story short, I finally get there, I was SHOCKED that it was still there.
Wow, there was a very healthy price on it too.

When I finally handled it, I decided it was probably a student repro piece. I told the head of the sale as much, she agreed and really really lowered the price for me.
Not my usual 5 dollar limit...tens time that.

    So, glass gang, is it??

I have to say I would have never know about this diamond without the CW community. It is always a learning process and it is terrific to have this community to learn a grow with...
I'd also like to thank the Academy, my manager, publicist...:))

Ok .....so now I'm jealous of you Amber....still hunting for this elusive type of glass. Guess I'm hunting in the wrong spots, but I really do hate estate sales. As you say they can be budget breakers. So why torture myself just by looking....lol.

Mike, I rarely go to estates either, way too pricey for cheapy me.
Thank you all for riding that high with me, telling me I didn't buy a fake, and the general love!

Amber, out here in California...we don't have estate sales like you do back out east! I miss those...when I lived in Virginia, near DC!

I am so happy you got it and i was of some help on it!!! :)

Austro you really did help a lot, thank you again. We can email when you get back.

JayHow, first it was super dim lighting, then it was still there and I knew like eight dealers personally that were there (plus others) and finally it was much heavier than I thought it should be.
    24. AmberRose AmberRose, 11 years ago
You are swee JayHow! Actually the story of the capture is my favorite part too. Guess that's why I detail it so much. I have no problem getting teased, if you didn't, I'd be worried you were mad at me :))
