Chaotic License, 11/17-18/67, Denver

This is a postcard version of a poster by Rick Griffin and Victor Moscoso for a show at the "Denver Dog" in November 1967, known as Chaotic License and FD-D12. Griffin did the central image (some say it's a self portrait) while Moscoso did the deliberately illegible lettering. The actual show info is crammed into the bubble at bottom right; headliner was Chuck Berry, with support by the Sons of Champlin. I think in those days Chuck used to show up with a guitar and play with a local backup band, so the Sons may have done that on these nights, but not sure. They definitely had the chops...
