Hi all, I found this large cobalt blue bottle and I am puzzle as to who the marker might be. It has the profile of a Holmegaard Gul Vase without the top. I have seen it attributed to Holmegaard but I like solid evidence as to who made it. The bottle measures 15 1/2" high by 5" in diameter. The neck has a "Hand Made Quality", sticker. Anyone have any thoughts as to who might have manufactured this piece of glass? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
im thinking not Holmegaard. but it is very nice :)
I'm with Sean.
any thoughts as to who might have manufactured it? The sticker has a male(?) glass blower on it.
I have never seen this before as far as the sticker to id it , but ill have to some research!! :)
I have seen that sticker on Ikea glass. They are very clever at getting styles made that are very derivative of well loved designs and sell them to us cheaply!
I've bought some before 2nd hand unknowingly and even bought some new in the shop and still like them!
Have you Karen? Very interesting . You have one share? And is there a link!?
Have u icollect?
Sean my only Ikea vase is packed away but a quick search on Ebay shows a vase with the "Hand Blown" sticker and Ikea's barcode on the bottom.

Have a look at Ikea's catalogue sometime - you will see why some of their glass is sold as Scandi!! (even though I am sure it is all made in China) It's attractive stuff.
thanks for the info racer4four!
Thank you Karen !!!! For sharing:)
Now, I am stumped. I found a cased glass version of the vase online attributing the manufacture to Empoli Opalina!? http://www.rubylane.com/item/1117589-hor21114/1960s-Italian-Orange-Red-Gul
beside it not being cased glass, what are the differences?
Thank you for that link on the Empoli article. The more you know the better!
I agree that the vase is nice looking. Thats why I bought it. I have a tendency to but drawn to simple strong lines regardless if it is old or new.
I appreciate all the comments that you have posted. I have been on other "design" forums were posters leave rude comments and have an elitist attitude. It refreshing to have a constructive debate without any mud slinging. Thanks!
