Made by Chicago Electric MFG Co. It is an 8" fan with a cage width of 8 1/2 inches and is 11 1/2 inches tall. It is non-oscillating and has 1 speed and of course it works. One of the fun things about fans is watching them work.
Did some research on it for the date it was made and apparently everyone is just guessing which is what I am doing.

Thank you very much Jay. It is also called a bullet fan because of the motor housing. Anyway is your ZERO fan like the one toracat recently posted. It's in show and tell just before (or is it after) this one. Or does it have the the green and silver melting ice logo? The ZEDRO fans were made by Bersted and they were considered cheap in the day. But oddly they all seem to still be working. This one cost me more than a dollar but was decent by antique mall standards. I told the girl there it must have just gotten there because I hadn't bought it. It had just been there a week.
