I'm curious if it glows under black light. With that age and color, possible it could be uranium glass.

If you take off the back cover, there should be a mfg date stamped on the inside of the cover. Mine is 1951. A friend has one stamped 1954.
If you go to typewriterdatabase.com you could find most info down to the year manufactured if you find your serial number
If you look inside and find the serial number, go to typewriterdatabase.com and you should be able to find all the data you need for this beauty
I agree with dav2no1. That is a VFW logo. Just google the logo and compare the pics. Circle around the eagle is where it would have said Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States
Knew someone who found this style radio that was gutted in a junk store and turned it into a hidden cabinet. Still looks like a radio, just holds his liquor bottles now.
I love "rescuing " old pieces and restoring them. Would definitely take on this beautiful challenge.

Have one almost identical. Old hunters 8 day cuckoo clock. Hung in our house as far back as I can remember. Thanks for making me go look at it again
