Forgot this was in the car's trunk from yesterday. It's a very strange piece ! The bottle is made of a gritty grayish ceramic maybe "raku" finished to mimic ancient bronze. It's 6" tall and has a rough texture with highlights of metallic copper and gold. The "Pièce de résistance" is the stopper. It's made of a 1 1/2" oval slice of a white crystal "geode". The base does have a mark but it's not very clear and a bit cryptic. Didn't find anything online like it either. Unsolved mystery time ! -Mike-
I love it!
In the 2nd pic it looks it looks like a monogram of FH or EH, but difficult to see. Can you maybe post a close up tomorrow, taken in natural light so that the flash doesn’t reflect, or crop the second pic to show just the mark closer up.
It was obviously done by a very talented artist.
Ok.....I changed the picture maryh1956 I think it's much better. Almost looks like a figure raising it's arms in the middle. -Mike-
I’ll see what I can find
Thanks Mary :)......I have it posted on the 20th Century Art forum as well but haven't heard anything yet.
OK, I was thinking it looked like a deer head with antlers so checked the animals category and found a Ram pottery of Holland mark, used in the 1920’s resumable on their stoneware pieces as its an impressed mark. Can’t send a link as you have to be a member however here it is on a Russian site, which must have copied the marks4antiques whole catalog. The intro page is in Russian, but everything else is in English.
Here is the link to the Ram mark, maybe the lower part of yours is the particular artist’s mark. Ill keep looking!

Ok it didn’t take you to the correct page, so click on the second tab at the top that page, which starts KJ, then click on the 3rd category across which shows a picture of a lion and you will be in the Animal category, then scroll down until you find the mark, they may be alphabetized.
It looks like part of it but then there's all that other stuff around it. Looks like initials and some other symbols. I was hoping the "geode" would be a clue. I live in Ohio and there is a large crystal cave at a winery in Put-in-Bay. They make some gift ware with geodes so it could be local ,which is why I found it here at our Salvation Army. Maybe just a souvenir. It's a real mystery! -Mike-
It looks to well made to be a souvenir. I am intrigued!
Me too Mary..... It's always nice to have marks on pieces but they can be just as frustrating as not having any at all.
