$5! Congrats. I love these things. Oh course I love just about anything with the sunburst design.
Looks Jere to me. Sweet deal too.
I will point out he signed his stipuff...mostly.
His stuff...geez
Stipuff, that's a new one :P
Yeah, I'm thinking it rusted off or something. Might be a knockoff though, no way to tell
I LOVE this piece! kind of reminds me of the sculptures of Ruth Asawa.
You funny Still.
It looks to be of high quality if not Jere, a fellow artist?
I have what I consider to be the ugliest Jere in existence. I should post.
This piece was created by Bruce and William Friedle, NYC, 1960's
They originated the sunburt that dominated the 1960's art world.
Unlike Jere which is factory produced, the Friedle brothers made everything by their own hand.
Their early sunbusts (circa 1950 60's) sold for $75 - $2500.
Before their NY studio closed Friedle work sold for up to $60,000.
Bruce Friedle is also credited with creating "American Whimsical Folk Art".
You can google them and find more.
