I have been trying to learn ANYTHING about this beautiful sculpture.
All I really know is that the artist was a Mescalero Apache Indian and he signed his work "BOY"... The Bird was carved out of a solid piece of Turquoise from the 'Kingman Turquoise Mine - in Kingman AZ."
I was told that it represents the 'cycle of life' in accordance with Apache beliefs.
The Eagle is perched on a branch, looking down on a baby cougar that is watching the mother cougar chase a rabbit around the corner....
It weighs 6.13 lb. - is - 11 - 1/4" high - and - 5 - 3/4" wide.. I belive the base is some sort of shale or marble..... If ANYONE knows ANYTHING about the artist or the piece PLEASE contact me. I seem to have 'run into a wall' as far as finding ANY information about it.
