This was my grandmothers she used to sew on it. She gave it to my mother and my mother gave it to me. I believe it is a 1910 -1912 Singer Sewing machine, Made in New Jersey. It sits in it's original wooden tiger wood cabinet. I have all the original parts and believe it is in working order. I have always wondered how much it was worth. It is a beautiful piece of furniture, I would love if someone could help.
Thanks
Beautiful "red eye" Singer! The cabinet is great, too. I don't know about the value, but sure is a nice piece.
Are you sure of the date for your machine ? I have two Singer red eye machines with the back clamping feet . Both of mine are from the 1920's . Yours is in what is called a parlor cabinet . It is very nice . One of my machines is in a seven drawer cabinet and is in very good condtion as well . I do not know what they are going for right now , but a few years ago one like mine in the seven drawer cabinet was selling for around $ 800.00 on E-bay . You might try looking there to see what they are selling for these days . I think that the parlor cabinet might make it worth a little more than the type I have .
You have a 1911 model sewing machine, I do believe, because I have one identical to yours, but as for the price...I'm trying to figure that out myself! I'm not looking to sell, just curious, but they are beautiful machines!
how do you find info on how much your old singer sewing machiean is...
Robin : E-mail me at < earthworms@sbcglobal.net > and I will send you the information you asked for .
I just bought one like this on Nov 1 2017. The veneer on the lid has a few missing pieces & one of the door knobs is missing as well. But other then those 2 thing she amazing. FYI these are called Drawing Cabinets, the smaller ones are called Parlor cabinets. Right now they are selling any where from $500-$900.
Oh I forgot to mention the serial # says my 66 "Redeye" was built Sept 1916.
Beautiful!
