Came across this in my put-aways and thought that this Conic Covered Candy Jar would make an interesting discussion topic on CW. Most of the cup-shaped, footed, covered candy dishes are slender but this one is Fat and quite impressive. It measures 8" tall and 4 3/4" across. It was made circa 1926 by U.S. Glass Co. of Pittsburgh, PA at their Tiffin Plant (R) and was called Diamond Optic, pattern #333. I know, "If it's Green-it ain't Vaseline" but this one , although not yellow, sure glows marvelously.
It sure does glow. It seems to glow in regular light too. An excellent piece.
I have never come across Tiffin glass here in Australia and have been suprised by how nice it is!
Thanks for posting it.
