FIRE candle holders, Nathalie Lahdenmäki (Arabia, 2001)

This is a very special design, and all due to its extreme simplicity.

Lahdenmaki is famous for her simple lines that create bold items. In this case I think she did a great work. These candleholders are visually very aytractive and are stackable, what allows you to play with different heights, although i have to say they work better one by one.

It seems there is another FIRE votive designed by Lahdenmaki, which is totally different in looks to this one as it has a foamy ceramic texture, what is a bit confusing...

By the way, Lahdenmaki designed last year the 2013 Art Works series for iittala, just like Harri Koskinen or Oiva Tikka did in last years, and even if her favourite medium is ceramics, her glass designs are very very beautiful
