Found this tiny little 4 " tall "Three Graces" figurine the other day. It's either bisque or parian ware . It has fairly good detail and modeling for such a small piece. The only mark on it is the number "57" stamped into the bottom. I'm thinking it might be part of a museum miniatures collection or something. I saw another small masterpiece in the same material yesterday of "The Discus Thrower" but sadly his out stretched arm was broken off. -Mike-
Three Graces week! Nice thing.
Did you see sarahoff's Three Graces pendant?
But of course racer4......I actually wasn't going to post the bitty thing but when I saw Sara's I figured I should join the crowd...lol
I have three graces listed too
Mine are 7 1/2 inches high and parian
I can't imagine miniature like yours.
Truly lovely
Cheers Rose
Thank you Rose..... These seem to have quite a few variations on the theme and size ranges from my research. Most are a bit different from the original Canova sculpture, but close enough to retain the original idea. Yours is beautiful as well. Love all your Asian pieces too ! -Mike-
