I purchased this trunk at an auction tonight for just under $60. Can anyone tell me anything about it? When was it made, did I pay too much? The measurements are approximately 27X15X18. Any info would be appreciated!

Lovely little dome top trunk. No you did not over-pay for it -- good value. It is from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Dogwood floral design on the slat clamps. Someone has most likely painted the tin pattern black at some point. A common style trunk for its day made by any number of manufacturers. I am not sure I would classify this as a child's trunk but more of a small trunk in normal range. Thanks for the post! Welcome to CW...
