Today I am again very happy because I have managed to get hold of a
18 K (not hallmarked but tested) Gold Micro Mosaic brooch/pendant made in the first half of the 19th century.
This brooch/pendant is a beautiful delicate image of a butterfly and the whole piece is performed with very fine tesserae. The pictures speak for themselves I think.
Measurement: The entire length including Appendix: 6.5cm
Brooch diametre: 3.5cm - Length of the Appendix: 3cm - Weight: 12 gr

I'm not entomologist ;-) but I think too butterfly, definitely not an eagle, lol!
kyratango, Hi,hi, you are right but it is not such a convincing picture of a butterfly could also be another bug. But maybe that's because details of course difficult to carry out in Micro Mosaic although there are other beautiful examples.
