Some of these are Neodymium glass, also known as Alexandrite glass that change colour in neon lighting and the new power saving lights.
The little upright hedgehog was my first piece, he looks as though he is covered in sugar!
Many of these are signed by the maker Miloslav Janku.

Hello Vintagefran, yes I believe they are supposed to be Herons. I now have a citrine yellow Giraffe as well, so the tall ones are taking over. I will be posting pictures soon.
