Specially for Jewels1900!
Here is my work, creating plique a jour with resin on unfinished silver plaques.
They are hallmarked with boar's head, and maker's mark J(oak leaf)Q
for Janvier Quercia active between 1899/1936
I made this more than 30 years ago, so for sure modern resin would give better result.
Hope you will love them!
Thanks Leah for your wonderful comment, but I didn't designed it in anyway... Only found several antique 1900 pieces unfinished from the jeweller (Janvier Quercia) workshop.
I had them lightly gilded then used resin to give the effect they would have if finished by the jeweller.
For all this time I haven't wore it as I couldn't find an accurate clasp :-(
Thanks Toolate2 and Antiquerose for your loves!
lovely work, you must be very proud! :)
Best of both worlds there - an old piece finished with your own talents!
Ooo, thank you Racer4four!
Wow. These are quite amazing. Fancy finding them! Would they have originally been strung on a wide piece of black ribbon to wear? Thanks for posting.
Like tiny stained glass windows!! Beautiful!!
Thanks all for wiewing and loving :-)
Yes Jewels, each plaque was worn single on a ribbon as a dog collar, closed with a "tube" catch. I sewn them together on a sheer iridescent ribbon, but never wore... Always looking for a clasp!
oooh, I see what you did here, very talented, I will have to experiment with my piece.
The tip is to back the piece with Scotch tape BEFORE applying the resin with a syringe!
Thanks peasejean :-)
Thank you Paris :-))
Thanks Lisa!
Choker! I love it!
Thank you so much Jewels, and CindB :-)
