Could that be the Titanic?
Alot of people have ask the same question. Maybe some one will know.
Thank you Chevelleman69!
Iceberg right ahead!
Thanks chevy59 your right!
Very pretty. Definitely not the Titanic though. The Titanic had 4 smokestacks.
I believe the ship on your rocking chair is the battleship USS Maine that was sunk in Havana in 1898. That started the Spanish American War. There were lots of USS Maine collecibles that came out after the sinking and the slogan"Remember The Maine".
Thank you James!

I have one that looks exactly like this. My dad bought it for my mom in the early 50's as a gift for their anniversary. I have had it now for 18 years. Rocked both my kids in it and now my grandson. I always wondered what ship it was and what it is worth. Not that i would ever sell it though. It was great to see another one like it. :)
Thank you HeatherPie88 for stopping by and loving the rocking chair! I was told the ship is the USS Maine. I paid $175.00 for the chair. I felt it was worth that to me. :-)

You're welcome. I love my old rocker nothing better than the creaking when it rocks. Maybe a memory from early childhood:)
nldionne, I have three rocking chairs and use them all! I love rocking. I have hardwood floors so I hear the creaking all the time. :-)
Michael
I have one too my Dad bought from someone in Atlanta GA in the 1960’s
