So here I show you three of my yellow necklaces. They look the same but they are all just a tiny bit different. The colours are more like the first picture.
The necklace in the middle has more of an egg yolk color. Its really yummie! The left one is a really long necklace, the one on the right a bit smaller and shorter. I only payed 1 euro each for the left and right necklace. The egg yolk necklace in the middle is a different story. It was cursed! I paid for it the most I ever paid for bakelite: 25 euro! When the lady I bought it from handed it over to me, the string broke and all beads fell on the floor! The lady really fell bad about that and she offered me another item I wanted for free. I didn't really mind because I like to restring my necklaces for safety reasons.
When I got home I noticed one of the bigger beads was missing! So I went back to the flea market and I asked the seller if by any chance she had found my missing bead. She didn't, so I just wanted to leave when suddenly out of nowhere (I swear!!!) the missing bead fell and landed at her feet!!! We were both so happy!
I meet the seller now and then on flea markets around my town and every time I see her she repeats that story to me and to everyone who is standing around her ;-)
I hope you like my necklaces.
I love your story. Sometimes things are meant to be. You got your bead!
:)
What a miracle story and what nice jewels. I like them all!
butterscotch! :)
I know these as Butterscotch Amber Bakelite .. lovely and more than a bargain on price and priceless tale to go with them.

Ozzmarty and hunter, you are both right of course. I forgot all about the name butterscotch when I posted them. Thanks for reminding me :-)
@ val: indeed the universe wanted me to find that bead :-))) Since I had it I had another break! (I took a cotton thread to put the beads on) but its heavy so now I just chose certainty and I threaded it on metal thread. Less beautifull but more secure.
Thanks ozmarty, Agram, Moonstonelover, valentino, nutsabotas, Manikin, aghcollect, freiheit and geo26 for loving my necklaces!
Nice story!
Did you all antique hunters ever notice you are sometimes "appealed" to a store or stand among a lot and discover a thing you love hidden in a cardboard box?
I often think we are not finding treasures, THEY find us!
I'm not really a bakelite collector, but I just love the fanciful names for the colors. And these look so tasty! ;) Great story.
Hello,
I just read your lovely story and I am hoping that I have a good ending to my story too. I purchased a necklace similar to the ones you posted but I am not 100% certain that my necklace is butterscotch bakelite. Can you take a look at my post and let me know what you think? Thanks.
