I was at a local flea market last weekend and spotted this sitting on a table. I almost walked on by, but thought to myself, "Chuck, you better take a second look at this." I immediately plopped down my $5.00 and took it home. Turns out it is a rather rare Pat'd 1904 Cutter "Tree Insulator." When there were no poles to put the insulators on, they used trees. The concave side was put against the tree and secured through the two holes. The wire was then strung through the large hole. It was a good day, in all my years, I have never seen one of these before.

Thank you very much Manikin & nutsabotas6. Yes, it is quite unusual, they also made one in a deep green, which is very scarce.
