Hello, Hot Pot is famous in Chongqing, I visited twice, 2010 and 2011! Chongqing is worlds largest city Time Mag. said 34,000,000! Bigger than top 10 cities in USA. I had visited most large cities in the world but this was overwhelming! 3rd photo is me eating at Hot Pot Restaurant in Jeifangbei, the shopping area, and wow, this store had more shopping than maybe all Santa Rosa where I live! I was on the 7th floor, Boats go by and grab food off them and pay by number of plates! I was fat and depressed when I went to China by freighter, but it was good. The rich businessmen thought I was Warren Buffet!! Wanted my autograph and to buy me dinner! When I returned I changed my life, lost weight and look like me again! Last photo is Chongqing, where two great rivers meet. Night is so beautiful with fireworks and lights! Now I will cook at my table!! At home!

Wow looks good! My ex (Midori is from Miyako, small Is.) said Japanese use frozen beef because cut thin it curls in Asian cooker! You can buy Sterno gel and put in small ceramic dish and use for fire! (I was told). Oh no tipping allowed in China!

Frozen beef allows thin slicing! Works well!

It was strange, I had no guides and took old China boat up river. Meals were almost free! Breakfast was about $1.50! on the ship. I ate at buffet in hotels in morning and at small restaurants in evening. No one mentioned tips to me. One Chicken place by police station had about 200+ police there! They bought me beer and paid for my dinner! I have been to 35+ countries and never was on a tour. China only trip where stayed in 4 star hotels, but they were very cheap $40 a night.

You look like a new man now Tora!
I would love to visit China - a little bit of hotpot at home will have to suffice.

I love to travel. Have been on the road my whole life. Have literally been almost everywhere, couple of African countries that maybe aren't too friendly at the moment. Antarctica...check. Arctic...check. I want to go to Bhutan, my Mom just got back. I mostly backpack. Some countries I would just hire a driver for weeks on end. Safaris are tours aren't they? So Ive done those a bunch. I told my husband if he ever mentioned the words...lets go on a cruise, I would divorce him.
Torakitty, get practicing! I'm getting hungry! Wouldn't a dinner party be fab?
