Trying to see if anyone knows what this is? To me it looks like a Rolling File cabinet, the slat/spaces are long, like they would fit Legal Size documents. Any help is appreciated!

My first reaction would be to check to see if the wheels are original to the piece. Second, record cabinets used to have similar divisions. How does the depth compare with a record?

Hey there, I placed a record in and it sticks out beyond the cabinet. Thats what the place I bought it from thought it was for, but its not deep enough for the record to fit in. How do I find out if wheels are original to a piece? The wheels say Darnell Casters on them

Based on what I could find, Darnell casters goes back to 1921. Based on that and the picture, they look original. Congratulations ! You have yourself a really nice horozontal file!

Thanks Savo, Its real wood, the back and inside of the shelves is stained dark wood, the outer sides and top have been painted dark brown, my first thought is it was in a post office for sorting or in a legal office, but who knows where it came from.

Thanks AR, they depth is 11" so it would fit the size of a Victrola record(which I dont have so I didnt know the size difference) Thanks for the feedback!
