Believe it or not.....but this was with a small bag of jewellery I bought at a Garage Sale for $ 5 ......LOL
It is 10K White Gold. I did take it to a jewelry store to have the Diamonds tested by that machine.......and they tested Real. The jewelry Store also told me it is called a Star Sapphire and is quite valuable. It is also vintage and the Sapphire is real.
I was also advised a *Quick test* to see of a Star Sapphire is real. You take a small light and move it back and forth about the Star. If real, the Star points will also move when you move the light. She told me I did very, very well with finding this ring.
I am tickled Pink.........err, I mean BLUE. LOL
Found this on CW about this type of Ring also:

What a beauty ! Star sapphire and diamond ring for 5 dollars amazing . I love it !!
I know we aren't supposed to make offers to buy by CW rules but think they will make an exception. I will give you double what you paid for the bag, just for the ring! It's not everyday that you make 100% profit plus keeping the, uh, uh, - - what-every else was in the bag. That offer is firm & am willing to negotiate a little if you cover shipping cost.
Beautiful!!
Hello Rose,
What a beauty! I love star sapphires. My Dad had one and I bought one a couple of months ago that I wear all the time. Whatever the light is I'm always checking my ring to see if it's revealing a star, the variations are beautiful.
Thanks for posting your!
I hope you're enjoying a beautiful week-end,
Tony.
antiquerose, Gorgeous ring!!! Great find!
I believe the Sapphire is man made. Not a geniune Sapphire. The Diamonds are real and the mounting is also. But the lines are too straight to be real.......and there is no depth in the Blue stone or opaqueness. This is what is called synthetic Sapphire.

Hi, I had taken it too a Jewelry store and they had said it was real....so I do not know, but I do know I used my *sharpen* tool on the photo-program to sharpen up the close-up, and to try to take some blurriness out. That may have affected the picture..............not sure.........maybe
Nice find, be careful, blunderbuss is trying to steal you in his negociation ;-)
For the sapphire, it is not natural... google "LINDE STAR SAPPHIRE"
Hey Antiquerose. I may be easy, but I'm not cheap! Ah! who do I think I'm kidding? I'm easy and cheap.
?? The Star in this one moves with a light source.....and I looked to see if it had a *L* on the back of the stone and it does not. Reading there about Linde Star Sapphire, it said they did not move and have a L on the back.
I have another ring where it does Not move in a light source, and the star is kinda raised a bit.....that I know is not real. See if I can find it and take a pic of the two together

UPDATE: Took this ring to a Jeweler today ( GMG Jewelers - Gemologist ). It is:
~ 10 k white Gold
~ Real Diamond on sides
~ Genuine Star Sapphire ( NOT synthetic )
They checked it and even put in Microscope at the marks on it and it is Real. They showed me one something like it there they had for sale ( Estate jewelry ) with about the same size of stone, and 10 k but the band was not as thick as mine and they were asking over $ 480 for it. So I said mine is probably between that and $ 600 or so as the band is a bit wider and the stone a bit bigger. The guy there said roughly, but I could get it appraised. I just said I wanted a Ball park number.
I think my pictures do not show the true beauty of it -- but had a Gemologist look at it now. I put mine and the one he showed me they had in the case and they both moved ( danced ) in the bright lights of the store exactly the same. So no more guessing -- She is Real !!!!
That was a Good Buy / Find !!!
Fantastic find!!!
Heya rosie!! I just saw this....yahoooooo!!!! Good on ya!!
Yours is so beautiful!!!
Beautiful ring, I had a ring that looked just like this (yes it was a real star Sapphire) which was unfortunately stolen in a house burglary in the 1990's. The history of the ring was interesting since I found it walking down a street when I was a about nine years old in Scranton Pennsylvania. The ring came with me to Southern California and that is where it was stolen. Another ring stolen at the same time was an an antique SS oval amethyst ring which was given to me by my aunt, I miss both of these even though it's been many years.
my first girlfriend bought me a Star sapphire ring don't know why most likely to put in my nose to lead me around ...lol anyways getting to the point... when I broke
off the relationship we had a fight and I threw the ring in the woods ....so I'm wonder if that's mine ....lol so hard..
nice ring rose..
