I just bought this ring and need help about the style/age and origin, well everything. It looks tlike both Art Nouvea and Art Deco to me but might be later. It´s a silver ring with a big cabochon of some sort. In real it looks much more green than in the photos, in fact the color is great and it draws attention to the ring. The ring is about 6 1/2 in size (17 mm) so I don´t think it´s a mans ring. The seller thought it's a chrysoprase cabochon, and I think that's right.

It is stamped 835 and that is followed by the letter F together with a star with in a frame (see photo nr 3 from the left). The 835 tells me this could be made in Germany. On the outside of the ring there is a Swedish silver importstamp that was in use from januari 1913 until the 80's.

I´m grateful for help and hope you like the ring.

I have had some input here from Valentino97 and BelleEpoque that this ring is probably from the 40's or 50's. Later I had an email from the seller here in Sweden who said he wasn't sure but thought it was from the 60's. So it's geting younger every day, wich I was :-). My hunch now is that the ring is probably from the 50's.

By the way Valentino97, you might be right about the date of this ring, hopefully someone will know the German mark (I'm pretty sure it is german) and that can give additional information. But maybe I have to repost this as I didn't manage to mark it 'unsolved'.

Hi Elisabethan, I said in my other post that I think the ring may be 40s or 50s, I'm glad to see tha Valentino thinks the same. 835 is indeed typically German. Hope someone can help with the mark.

Oh, sorry I made a misstake didn't see that. Ok, I'm hoping it's not from the 40's but the 50's.

Thanks Phil, nice of you to say so. I think so to eventough I find it a little bit maskuline for me. I use it but it's not my style really. But you (me) need to surprice yourself from time to time, to feel free.
