OK, so I've had a busy weekend. :) Last flea market find - this really cool Czech glass piece in alabaster glass with contrasting applied rim and base (with polished pontil) in blue opal glass. The geometric shapes and motifs in brilliant colors are typical of 1920s and 1930s Czech deco - the glass schools in Kamenicky Senov or the Palda catalogs of the 1930s have shown similar motifs. As for the blank, well that is a tantalizing thing to try to figure out. It is certainly the quality of Loetz tango production of the time. There is a very similar shape in Series II (8387). It is the same shape and size, but the foot is slightly different, and it predates this piece by about 15 years or so. The Series III shapes are also not fully documented in the published material so far - so the blank remains a mystery, but the decor is unmistakeably Czech.

Mark, you wouldn't believe what I had to leave behind - these were the relative bargains - there was plenty more for someone with deeper pockets.

Plus, I scored a nice bookshelf to hold some of my expanding reference book library for $75 :)
