Hi Folks just got this Rothschild the other day along with a ST Dupont in silver which works, this one works but it took me a while to figure how everything worked but to bad I have a leak someware and no one works on them but it's a beautiful lighter, even ARS would not touch it because they have no parts, shame shame shame. I bought three lighter from a girl who wanted 35.00 for them, I was to say the least excited, one Dupont, one Rothschild and one very nice designer gas lighter that works great. Well thanks all and more to come. Blessings. Brad.
I'm new at this so please forgive any errors.

hi, i just bought a rothschild gold plated lighter on ebay, but i paid a lot more than you, about $300 including shipping. i was wondering if you know anything about them and the company as i can't find anything on the internet. thanks
    7. Brad, 14 years ago
Hi Doug you won't find much on the internet, maybe in books as they went out of the buiss a long time ago, I tried and tried but no go, the most I can say is look and focus on lighter collections and collecting, anything that has to do with the hobby of collecting, see if there were more interest in Rothchild you would see it all over the place but alas there isn't so it's supply and demand for the space I think, try that and libraries, books anything like that. I was on there a couple of days ago looking for info on a Dunhill gold plate mini and it's a rare lighter, I even went to the Dunhill site the people who make them as there still in business but no go man I had to locate a person who collects the minis. Good luck Doug wish I could be more help. Blessings. B.

thanks for the quick reply Brad !! i like quality things and i bought a dunhill rollgas a few months ago, then a st dupont gatsby, then a (maybe ) cartier (not sure if it's real or a good copy as it was a cheap internet buy, less than $200 and new). today i came across the rothschld and just had to have it !! i also am bidding on a couple of $200 gold plated lighters, one's a caran d'ache and one's a cartier, plus i want to get a rose gold st dupont line 2. so i'll have 7 excellent lighters to rotate for my smoking amusement and none of them will likely leave home. personally, i think i'm a bit nuts hahaha. happy collecting !! doug

To bad you can't get to my site I have some night lighter from time to time, let me think about it and I will figure a way. Blessings. B.
PS: I'm looking for a antique lighter that is not to be found, it's called a coal or cole or colle thats the thing I really don't know how it was spelled but long ago back in the day around 30's there was a light that all you had to do was flip the lid and wave it in the air and poof you got flame man, this thing was cool Doug but I think they outlawed it and haven't seen or heard anything of them. Have fun I'm just getting ready to put up one of my cig cases on show and tell come take a look in a while.

hi Brad, hey, how do you fill your rothschild lighter ? mine needs filling now, but i haven't got an adapter to fit it. is there a place that specializes in exotic adapters ? thanks, doug
    11. Brad, 14 years ago
Hi Doug first off is it like mine? dose it have the same opening for fuel on the bottom?
    12. doug, 14 years ago
hi Brad, thanks for the reply. yep, exactly the same as yours.
    13. Brad, 14 years ago
Ok you may already know this but from what I was told you don't need anything special like fancy adapters like for the St Duponts and Dunhill but see the little circle in the middle? well it pushes in and I think all you have to do is just find the right adapter on your can lid but buy the good stuff triple refined, the one I buy is Lucienne and it has all the adapters in the top of the cap. Well hope I was able to help to some point. Take care Doug. Blessings.
