This toy tractor was purchased at a yard sale by my Uncle. These pictures were taken on the top of the bed cover on his truck. This toy is old, but he does not know how old, and I can't find a thing on the internet about it. I am guessing a lot do not still exist in this condition! I have found some in parts, and in terrible condition with missing wheels, etc. Some have the front wheels close togather, and some have them apart, like his. He replaced a sprocket, and his grandchildren play on it. It was made by ERTL in Dyersville, Iowa. I found one on the internet without the trailer and they said it was made in 1991. Then someone told my Uncle that his was made in 1970. Does anyone know anything about these tractors? This one is like new, and the kids love it! My Uncle would like to know how old it really is. Anyone Know??? Thanks for any information he can get! The kids are easy with it, but if it is too old, he may want to put it up!! :)
John Deere produced the real 4020 tractors from 1963 or 64 until the early 70's. Not really sure when Ertyl started producing the pedal tractors. I have seen them sell for $165.00 to $300.00. Grandchildren are only little once, if you enjoy seeing them play on it, they sell replacement parts if something does happen.
I have a 1957 metal john deere tractor and trailer that was my sons and it is all together and still works it even has the clicker that is supposed to sound like a motor. I would like to know what it is worth.

i have one of those john deere 4020 pedal tractors .it is in very good shape. only missing one hub cap.i would like to sell it if anyone is interested in it.
He'll want to put that tractor up. w/o the trailer it's mint condition value is around $670 and yes it was made in 1991 for as executive gifts for the pioneer corn company there were only 500 of them ever mad of this particular version and I have one as well....
This is the 1991 version having the wide front. The 1960's models all had narrow front tires. The regular issue in mint condition sells for around $250-$300.00.
Chris, What determines the Pioneer model, a sticker?
I am desperately looking for a John Deere Powerwheels (used is in my pay range as I am laid off) for my grandkids. It is the 12 volt Gator with 2 seats. If you have any information I would be very grateful, thank you.
