I remember having a viewmaster like this as a child, but not lighted. I have found out, so far, that this is the last model made of Bakelite. The twenty some odd reels that came with it are mostly marked copyright 1948 to 1956. Now I'm getting hooked. Anyone know of a collectors club or orginization for Viewmaster.
Not a club, but you should check out this site:

Wow! Thank you very much potrero.
I have a complete set of view masters, starting from the model A thru O over 75 models including disk. Anyone interested in a wonderful collection, email me for info.
That is very cool! I have a model C that belonged to my grandparents. They have a vast collection of reels of noteworthy places that they had traveled to in the United States as well as many cartoons. One of the cartoons is Little Black Sambo. I remember I thought that cartoon was accurate at the time and now realize how I was subjected to so much prejudice in my youth. Thank God my attitude towards racially charged situations has done a complete 360.
I have just taken my Sawyers View Master out of the box. Any one know what the value of these are. It is a Model D. Excellent condion Still working with original bulb, and has got a badge emblem near the viewer. Still in the box . There are also a number of old slides
I collect ViewMasters and this is my favorite model viewer.
